articles on orange juice nutrition facts

You know that Sunkist citrus forms the basis of a healthy and nutritious diet, but did you know just how good it is for you?

Most people realize that citrus fruit provides vitamin C, but many are not aware that citrus can help control appetite, reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, lower cholesterol levels and protect the body against diseases...all thanks to the fruit's unique nutrient profile.

Oranges, as well as other fruits, contain a water-soluble fiber called pectin. Studies show that pectin helps reduce blood cholesterol levels. This may explain why individuals who eat several servings daily of fruits, such as oranges, and vegetables have a lower risk for heart disease. Studies also show that pectin suppresses hunger levels up to four hours after eating. 1
