Millions of viewers have tuned in to watch TV chef Martin Yan, the internationally renowned star of the popular PBS series "Yan Can Cook." The celebrity chef is the author of several best-selling cookbooks including "Chinese Cooking for Dummies," "Everybody's Wokking," "Martin Yan's Asian Favorites," and "Martin Yan's Chinatown Cooking," the companion cookbook to his newest PBS TV show, "Martin Yan's Chinatowns," a culinary tour of 11 Chinatowns around the world.

Fun and full of energy, Martin makes the exotic familiar by offering tips on unfamiliar ingredients and specific techniques for creating foods with flavour and eye-appeal.

The native of Canton in southern China immigrated to Hong Kong, where he apprenticed in a restaurant before going to America to study food science at the University of California at Davis. He currently lives near San Francisco. Martin is also a popular speaker at conferences, food industry events, panels, culinary functions and schools.
